R56 models - Dead easy, just fold down the rear seats and locate the end fittings into the seat back clips.
F56 models - Bit more work to do here. The end fitting brackets supplied with the F56 rear GP bar are designed to allow the rear seats to be used at the same while the GP bar is in position.
The new brackets replace the existing rear seat back brackets.
Fold the rear seats forward. Carefully peel back the carpet to access the seat back retaining bracket. Remove the originel bracket that retains the seat back.
In place of the original bracket fit the new bracket that is supplied with the GP bar. Just fit the bracket loosely for now. Fit both brackets then attach the brackets to the bar ends. Make sure the bar and brackets are correctly aligned before tightening all of the fixings.
Now your seats can be folded into the upright position and will be retained by the new bracket. Keep the old brackets safe in case you need to remove the GP bar at a later date.

Car modification laws in the UK and elsewhere are in place to ensure drivers who want to enhance their vehicles adhere to certain safety standards. While modifications are a great way to alter the look and performance of a car, some may also affect the handling and overall safety of the vehicle on the road.
You may need to inform your insurance company of any modifications made to your car – whether they were already installed when you purchased the vehicle or if you have done them yourself. If you don’t tell your insurer, any future claim you make could be turned down. Worse still, your insurance could be completely invalidated. Modifications carried out to any car may affect the vehicle manufacturers warranty.
